Join creative writing instructor Paul Zakrzewski for a fresh, imaginative approach to one of the most important yet misunderstood components of the UC application – the Personal Statements. This rigorous but very supportive two-part workshop will focus on getting you past any perceived writing blocks, and you will leave with drafts for both statements.  Each 90-minute session will feature a variety of activities including learning the purpose of the personal statement, generation and selecting the best topics for you, writing drafts, and reading your work with an admission officer’s eye.

IMPORTANT: Space is very limited and early RSVPs are crucial. You will get a great deal of important and positive, supportive feedback from both the instructor and your peers. In return, please keep in mind that you are committing to two sessions over two consecutive Saturdays, and that you should also expect to work on drafts in between sessions to get the most out of this workshop. Bring paper, pen, questions, and an open mind!
